SD cards are commonly paired with microcontrollers for storing and retrieving large volumes of data, making them ideal for applications like data logging or visual data processing. This micro SD card module simplifies the process of interfacing SD cards with microcontrollers.
Operating between 4.5V and 5.5V, the module features an onboard voltage regulator that steps down to 3.3V. Data communication between the SD card and microcontroller occurs via the SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) communication protocol.
Key components of the module include a voltage regulator and a level shifter. The low-dropout regulator converts the input voltage (5V) to 3.3V, while the level shifter ensures proper voltage conversion between 5V and 3.3V logic levels.
