The Pulse Sensor is an analog biomedical sensor used to measure heart rate (beats per minute – BPM) by detecting blood flow changes through a fingertip or earlobe. It works using a photoplethysmography (PPG) principle, where a small LED shines light into the skin and a photodetector measures the reflected light changes caused by blood pulse flow.
