The LM386 200 Times Gain Audio Amplifier Module is a compact mono sound-amplifier board designed to amplify low-level audio signals and drive a small speaker.
It is built around the LM386 low-voltage audio power-amplifier IC. The LM386 has a standard internal voltage gain of 20, while an external capacitor between its gain-control pins can increase the voltage gain up to approximately 200 times, or 46dB.
The module is suitable for Arduino audio projects, voice-recording modules, microphones, radios, electronic toys, school projects and DIY speaker systems. It can be connected between a low-level mono audio source and a compatible small speaker.
Its compact design makes it useful for breadboard prototypes and space-limited electronic projects.

Important Notes
- This is a mono amplifier, not a stereo amplifier.
- “200 times” refers to the approximate maximum voltage gain, not 200W output power.
- Use only a DC supply within the voltage marked on the actual module.
- The speaker wattage and impedance must be compatible with the amplifier board.
- Keep audio-input wires short to reduce humming and electrical noise.
- Do not connect a speaker directly to the audio-input terminals.
Applications
- Arduino sound-output projects
- ISD1820 voice-recording module
- Microphone pre-amplification projects
- Small DIY speaker systems
- Electronic toys
- Doorbell and alarm circuits
- FM or AM radio projects
- Voice-announcement projects
- School science projects
- Robotics sound-output circuits
- Signal-tracer projects
