The LJC18A3-B-Z/BX Capacitive Proximity Sensor is an NPN normally open (NO) non-contact detection sensor designed to detect both metallic and non-metallic materials without physical contact.
Unlike inductive proximity sensors, a capacitive sensor can detect a wider range of materials such as plastic, glass, wood, paper, powder, liquid, grain, metal and other objects, depending on the application and sensor adjustment.
This sensor is commonly used in industrial automation, object detection, liquid level sensing, material detection, conveyor systems, counting applications, packaging machines, DIY automation projects and PLC-based control systems.
The cylindrical M18 threaded body allows easy mounting on machines, brackets and automation panels. It operates from a 6V to 36V DC supply and provides an NPN transistor output, making it suitable for compatible controllers, PLC inputs, relay interfaces and microcontroller projects when proper interface circuitry is used.
Many LJC18A3-B-Z/BX sensors include an adjustable sensitivity control, allowing the user to tune the sensing distance according to the target material and installation conditions.
