KY-024 Linear Magnetic Hall Effect Sensor Module with Analog and Adjustable Digital Output for Arduino

The KY-024 Linear Magnetic Hall Effect Sensor Module is designed to detect the presence, strength and polarity of a nearby magnetic field. It combines a linear Hall-effect sensor with an onboard comparator circuit, sensitivity-adjustment potentiometer and both analog and digital signal outputs.

Unlike a basic magnetic switch that only indicates whether a magnet is present, the KY-024 provides an analog output that changes according to the magnetic field detected by the sensor. This allows a compatible microcontroller to monitor relative changes in magnetic strength, magnet distance, movement and polarity.

The module also provides an adjustable digital output. Its onboard potentiometer is used to set the magnetic-field level at which the digital output changes state. This makes the module suitable for projects requiring either continuous analog measurement or a simple magnetic trigger.

The KY-024 is commonly used with Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi through a suitable ADC, STM32 and other microcontroller platforms. It can be used for magnetic proximity detection, contactless position sensing, security systems, rotation detection, speed-monitoring experiments and robotics projects.

Dual Output Operation

Analog output – A0

The analog output voltage changes according to the magnetic field’s strength and polarity. Connect A0 to a compatible analog-input pin to monitor the sensor value.

Digital output – D0

The digital output changes between HIGH and LOW when the magnetic signal crosses the threshold selected using the onboard potentiometer.
