CL100S NPN Medium-Power Transistor – 50V 1A Silicon Planar Amplifier and Switching Transistor, TO-39 Metal Can

The CL100S transistor is a silicon NPN bipolar junction transistor designed for medium-power amplification and switching applications. It is suitable for electronic circuits that require higher current handling than common small-signal transistors.

The transistor supports a maximum collector-emitter voltage of 50V, collector-base voltage of 60V, emitter-base voltage of 5V, and collector current up to 1A. It is supplied in a durable TO-39 metal-can package, which provides better mechanical strength and heat dissipation than many small plastic transistor packages.

The CL100S can be used as an amplifier for medium-current analog signals or as an electronic switch for LEDs, buzzers, small relays, motors and other compatible loads. A suitable base resistor and load-protection components must be used according to the circuit.

Its rated power dissipation is approximately 800mW in free air at 25°C and up to 3W when the transistor case is maintained at 25°C under suitable heat-dissipation conditions. Actual safe power depends heavily on mounting, airflow, ambient temperature and operating conditions.
