AT89C52 8052 Microcontroller IC – 8-Bit 8051-Compatible MCU with 8KB Flash, 256B RAM and 40-Pin DIP Package

The AT89C52 microcontroller is an 8-bit embedded-control IC based on the widely used 8051/8052 architecture. It is suitable for educational projects, industrial control circuits, automation systems, display controllers, robotics and general-purpose embedded applications.

The device includes 8KB of programmable Flash memory, allowing the user’s program to be stored inside the microcontroller. It also provides 256 bytes of internal RAM, 32 programmable input/output lines, three 16-bit timers or counters, a full-duplex serial communication channel and multiple interrupt sources.

The AT89C52 is compatible with the standard MCS-51 instruction set and 8052 pin configuration, making it useful for learning 8051-family programming and replacing compatible devices in supported circuits. It can be programmed using a suitable external microcontroller programmer.

The microcontroller supports operation at clock frequencies up to approximately 24MHz. An external crystal oscillator, capacitors, reset circuit and regulated power supply are generally required to build a complete working system.

Its four 8-bit I/O ports can be used to connect switches, LEDs, relays through driver circuits, seven-segment displays, LCD modules, keypads, sensors, motor drivers and other digital peripherals.

The AT89C52 is commonly programmed using Embedded C or assembly language through compatible software tools. A compiled HEX file must be loaded into the IC using a programmer that specifically supports the AT89C52.
