The AH49E Linear Hall Effect Sensor Module is an analog magnetic-field detection module designed for Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi ADC circuits and other compatible microcontrollers.

Unlike a basic digital Hall switch that only changes between ON and OFF, the AH49E produces an analog output voltage that varies with the strength and polarity of the magnetic field. This makes it useful for applications that need to monitor magnet position, movement, direction or relative magnetic-field intensity.

When no magnetic field is present, the sensor output is normally positioned near half of the supply voltage. Bringing one magnetic pole closer causes the output voltage to increase, while reversing the pole causes the output voltage to decrease. The microcontroller can read this changing voltage through an analog-input pin.

The AH49E can detect magnetic fields produced by permanent magnets and electromagnets. It is commonly used in non-contact position sensing, joystick controls, speed detection, current-sensing experiments, motor control, magnetic encoders and educational electronics projects.

The module normally includes the AH49E sensor, supporting components and a simple pin interface for power, ground and analog signal output. Board design, pin order and supply range may differ between manufacturers, so the labels printed on the supplied module should always be checked before connection.
